Okay, so I have eleven minutes to blog. I'm still getting the hang of this everyday thing. I definitely need to get a routine in place, either doing it in the morning or at night. The rest of my routine has pretty much fallen into place, which is nice. I didn't go jogging this morning or yesterday morning, but I had semi-good reasons. Yesterday I woke up really tired, and figured I could better benefit from a little extra sleep and some studying. This morning I got up right at six, showered, and spent from about 6:45-8:00 studying my vocabulary words. I have about 150 nouns, adjectives, verbs, and phrases that we've covered so far, so that was not exactly a pice of cake. We have a quiz on Monday, which is ostensibly what I'm studying for, but it's not going to be very intense, I hear. They assess you, and you have to be working hard, but they can't grade you too harshly, I guess, since everyone learns at different rates, and they don't allot time other than the four hours during class for studying.
But still, I'm trying to really learn these words well, because I want to know as much as possible by the time I head to my school and homestay. It's going... okay. Yesterday after another pretty boring teaching workshop (during which I made all of my vocabulary cards) I went to E-Mart again (the Targetesque store) and bought some things I needed--toiletries, a few snacks, and so forth. It was a nice little trip, and I brought Tim, which worked out well because he speaks some Korean. The best part was I summoned the courage to use a phrase I learned in class. "Eodi ae..." ("Where is..."), then I pointed to my hairtie. It worked, anyway, so that's that.
I went to Key Club last night, where we talked about horror movies, and then I went to bed early (around ten, I think). Yesterday's meals were uneventful, but not good. This morning's breakfast was okay. The soup had some edible meat and didn't smell fish, so I put my rice in there and went for it. What can you do?
Okay, have to run to class. My size 14 jeans are still a little tight, but I think if I give it another week, they'll be looser.

I'm proud of you for venturing out and using Korean in a clever way...and for getting to a size 14 -- me too! We're on track together!
xoxo
Oh, P.S. -- do you have a friend to study with? Flashcards always work best for me with a friend to quiz me. Have you tried reading any Korean yet (like the news online or a newspaper)? That was helpful to men when I was first learning a language. Man, I wish I was there learning Korean!
Oh, I love languages...*sigh* Why did I not become a foreign language major? Damn.
