No time for insights about accepting myself, or cementing my new lifestyle, or how much better I feel when I eat vegetables. This is a drive-by intended mostly to cheer myself up.
I like interval training on the treadmill with American movies. They're terrible (Haunted Mansion, Behind Enemy Lines), but they sure are a good distraction just long enough to get me through the high intensity portions.
I like slowly feeling like I'm gaining control of my snacking. A little bit at a time, yes. With breakdowns. But... I know I'm getting there.
I don't care that the scale has gone up almost exactly one pound every day for three days, after a close-to all-time low on Monday, despite the fact that I'm being really good. Whatever, fickle box.
Say what you will about diet coke, but I think it's probably saving my life (assuming it doesn't later give me cancer). I do drink a lot of water, almost constantly, but sometimes (and by sometimes I mean frequently), I need something that's not water. And I'm assuming that diet coke is better than juice, which is loaded with sugar and empty calories. And it's definitely better than vast quantities of regular coke. So... thank you, Coke Zero.
I like having a shape. Being a stick figure is not my goal. Being completely flat is not my goal. I like my curves. The only curve I don't really appreciate is the slight curve of the muffin top over my jeans, but it's shrinking.
Now, to bed, so that I can be ready for 5:30 alarm and the gym. Please let it be easier to smile tomorrow.

You have such a great attitude about the scale issue. Although it can be frustrating to be doing everything you are "supposed" to do each day (i.e. exercise and make good food choices), sometimes, for whatever reason that darn scale just doesn't cooperate. I think the way in which we handle those scale fluctuations is a huge factor in weight loss success. I know many people who see a pound increase when they were perfectly on target the day before and just think, to heck with it, and then go on an eating binge. Then unfortunately, the pound that may likely have been water turns into a REAL pound. Keep up the good work and the great attitude!
I hope you found your smile. You certainly have a lot of positives going on, especially that snacking. :)
It sounds like one of those days where you just have to keep on keeping on. You're doing fine :)
Hope you are smiling by now but just a note that the scale could be doing what it is doing as a result of the interval training and that is great because it is probably muscle and fluid and glycogen so even though you weren't worried about the scale anyway, that is good because it could actually be a good thing that is happening under it all.
You've made such incredible progress. The fact that you are still here, still making progress, little by little, step by step, that's what it takes to get where you're going. I don't know if your quote on top is new or not but I just noticed it and it's great!
and? checking in on you.
Ive lost my smile before and that sh** is NOT FUN.
